Art-Style Studies
These studies were meant to help us understand how to break down specific art styles. After we break them down; we then have to recreate a scene in a short, but reasonable time frame. We would normally have a vote and pick what game we were going to recreate. You also needed to add something original that made it stand out from the original game. Then have a vote on who made the best one. It was a friendly competition and it was a lot of fun.
Kentucky Route Zero
For our Kentucky Route Zero art study we had 2 weeks to recreate a scene or level, I was responsible for the FX, lighting, world building and design. For this theme we went for "The Walking Dead" a prison scene. Everything was built from scratch in the UDK engine. This was the end result.
Design Work
This was a scene I made in a few days. When I was trying to understand the art style.
Dota 2
For our Dota 2 art study we had 4 1/2 weeks to recreate a scene or section of a level. I was responsible for lighting, world building and design. Our theme was "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Everything was built from scratch in Unreal Engine 3.

Dota 2 Water Shader
The idea for this shader was to make a semi-realistic looking water. Using the Depth Bias Alpha to hide the hard edges as it touched the shallow edges. Replacing the transparent area with a foam or bubbles making the water more believable.
